What can I say? As Winston Churchill said, "When going through hell, keep going." And find a way to get yourself back to what matters most to you.
lyrics
Well I was thinking about it on the way back home
That big old boulder has become a stone
And I’m still traveling around life’s bend
In no hurry to get to the end, are you
Well I cleaned my windows, now the streaks are gone
And I can see for miles not a road too long
So pack my bags, give them’ all away
Well, I’m sorry but I cannot stay, it’s true
I’m moving through
And the stars tracking us all of the way
Things are changing here everyday
I’m okay and the sky is still blue
The way I see it, we make a choice
Take or leave it, can’t you see it
Tell me now what are you gonna do
Well I wanna see it, don’t you
Well, I was thinking about it just the other night
That big old anchor has become a kite
I’m easing back while it flies away
I don’t even hold that string today, it’s true
I’m sailing through
And the stars tracking us all of the way
Things are changing here every day
I’m okay and the sky is still blue
The way I see it, we make a choice
Take or leave it. Just believe
Tell me now what are you gonna do
I want to believe it, don’t you
And you can’t stop sun
And you can’t stop trees
You can’t stop rain
And you can’t stop me
Well I been thinking about it and I have to say
I am still not sure just how I lost my way
But all the same, I’m not turning back
These are better days I won’t give ‘em back
Would you
Well you’d be a fool
And the stars are tracking us all of the way
Things are changing here every day
I’m okay and the sky is still blue
The way I see it, we make a choice
Take or leave it. Just believe it
Tell me now, what are you gonna do
Well I wanna see it, don’t you
And I’m gonna believe it, won’t you
I wanna believe it, don’t you
And the stars are tracking us all of the way
And things are changing here every day
Oooo Oooo Oooo

I love it when songwriters revisit their own catalog in different ways. Songs and their meanings evolve over time. Great effort here, and I'm glad I stumbled on it. veenstar

John Drumbo French from Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band worked with Thompson on two albums along with Fred Frith and Henry Kaiser.
Those two French, Frith, Kaiser and Thompson albums led me to this.
Also, Richard Thompson taught Hugh Cornwell (of The Stranglers) how to play the bass guitar in a band when they were both at the same school (Emil and The Detectives?).
With a career spanning 50 years and playing with two of my heroes (French and Cornwell) Thompson has produced a fascinating EP. yellowcakeuf6
